Micke Grove Zoo (MGZ) participates in several conservation-breeding programs for threatened wildlife that are managed by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) Species Survival Plans (SSP).

These SSPs are for the following species: northern bald ibis (Geronticus eremita), marbled teal (Marmaronetta angustirostris), Cape thick-knee (Burhinus capensis), fossa (Cryptoprocta ferox), ringtail (Bassariscus astutus), southern pudu (Pudu puda), Prevost’s squirrel (Callosciurus prevostii) and golden lion tamarin (Leontipithecus rosalia).
